CORTEMPORANEA
CORTEMPORANEA is an explicit wordplay that combines the word “corte” (which means “courtyard”) and “contemporanea” (which means “contemporary”).
The project, in fact, transforms the courtyard of the historical palace in an exhibition venue dedicated to site-specific work of both Italian an international artists invited by Flavio Misciatelli, president of the Fondazione Palazzo Chigi Zondadari, to freely interpret the space.
Contemporary art eludes any precise definition. Free from rules and canons it develops in a timeless dimension, where past, present and future intertwine in a continuous creative dialogue.
With CORTEMPORANEA the palace becomes the stage for this stimulating dialogue, welcoming a different artist each year to interact with its courtyard.
